Responsibilities:
The Home Health Care RN provides nursing care based on the nursing process to individuals of all ages and diagnoses in the home setting within the local Fairbanks area.
 
This care provided is impartial, regardless of race, creed, sex, age, national origin, source of payment, sexual preference or beliefs. The RN strives for excellence in clinical practice, patient/family teaching and communication skills in an effort to allow the patient &/or caregiver to safely and effectively manage health care needs in the home.

Independent judgment is used regarding priority of tasks and assignments, changes in patient condition, evaluating patient’s response to care and emergency situations.

Typical autonomous decisions may involve case management responsibilities such as the patient visit schedule, patient/family education needs, interpreting and implementing policies department and administrative, procedures, regulations and protocols, Centers for Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and payer source constraints.
This position also reviews and directs patient care and documentation made by the Licensed Practical Nurses and Home Health Aides operating under a physician ordered and RN directed plan of care for each patient case assigned.
 
 
Minimum Qualifications:
**Graduate of an approved school of nursing
**A minimum of one year of home health experience
**Must possess a current valid Alaska RN license (Or able to obtain)
**Must also maintain current provider level of all ages BLS certification.
**Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
**Must be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats.

Fairbanks
Fairbanks, Alaska's second largest city, is located in the vast Interior north of Denali and south of the Arctic Circle, bordered by the Alaska Range to the south and the Brooks Range to the north.
