Responsibilities:
Directs overall operations of Maternal Child Health Services. Plans, administers and evaluates twenty-four hour operation of the Obstetric,
Nursery, Special Care Nursery, and Labor and Delivery units. Oversees assignments of duties to unit personnel based on patients' needs,
staffing availability, occupancy trends and competency. Provides leadership and role modeling for delivery of safe, effective and efficient
patient care. Regularly reviews and revises as necessary departmental standards and ensures procedures performed comply with all ministry and
regulatory agency standards. Works with ministry administration and other departments to achieve the hospital goals and objectives.
Education and Experience:
Professional level of knowledge of nursing theory, practice and administration at a level normally acquired through a bachelor's degree from
an approved school of nursing or a bachelor's degree with associated nursing theory coursework required.
A master's degree in nursing or related field with additional nursing theory course work in preferred.
Nurse Practitioner with NICU specialty preferred.
Minimum of five years progressively more responsible related work experience with one-year concurrent experience in appropriate specialty is
required. Minimum of three years of supervisory or managerial experience is preferred.
