RN Manager of Wound Care Services
The RN Manager of Wound Care is responsible for the day to day management of the department, embracing the mission and value statements.

Responsible for the day to day operation of the department.

Requires excellent clinical expertise within specialty

Evaluated, plans, and implements nursing care for specialty patients including wound, ostomy, and continence patients.

Participates in the human resource management function for the department by coordinating the selection, promotion, orientation, and performance appraisal and management processes.

Maintains current knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and his/her clinical condition.

Involvement in formulating a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning; includes family in teaching, as appropriate.

Functions as liaison between patients, physicians and other healthcare providers.

Consults other departments, as appropriate, to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities.

Maintains performance improvement activities for department. Performs competency evaluations of all staff members in a timely manner.

Assures documentation meets current standards and policies.
