Patient Safety Officer
Under the supervision of Area Director, the Patient Safety Officer will have primary oversight of the facility-wide patient safety program. This leadership role will direct others within the facility towards process improvements that will support the reduction of medical/health care errors and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes. This practitioner provides leadership for safety assessments, coordinates the activities of the patient safety function or committee, educates other practitioners on the system-based cause for medical errors, consults with management and staff, and communicates literature-based ideas regarding effective patient safety strategies to others within the organization. Key responsibilities of this position also include working with all services to hardwire reliable delivery of healthcare systems that incorporate best practice patient safety methodologies.

Job Requirements:
Strong leadership background in patient safety/risk management.
Requirements: Healthcare related degree (Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work, Respiratory Therapy, Radiology Tech..etc).
Experience in design and implementation of patient safety curriculum in a complex healthcare delivery system.
Formal training in Patient Safety Methodologies ie-(IHI, ISMP, AHRQ, ASHRM, NAHQ, Six Sigma) preferred.
