A paraprofessional who is specifically trained, competent, and performs assigned functions of personal care to the patient in their residence under the direction, instruction, and supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Therapist. Performs personal care and bathing as ordered. Prepares and assists in feeding light meals to patient with an understanding of adequate nutrition and fluid intake as it relates to the patients individual needs. Performs light housekeeping tasks in the patients immediate environment. May assist with medications that are ordinarily self-administered as assigned by the RN High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one (1) year full-time experience in direct patient care in an institutional setting such as a hospital or nursing facility or one (1) year full-time experience within the last five (5) years in direct patient care in an agency setting; is listed on the Texas Department of Human Services Nurse Aide Registry with no finding against the Aide relating to patient abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of patient property

Job Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Successfully completes competency evaluation and testing on entry. Must be able to read and write English and communicate effectively.
Texas Certification as Nurses Aide. Current basic CPR.
Must have a current Texas drivers license with current automobile liability insurance.
