Our Corporate Office in King of Prussia is looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist. The Clinical Nurse Specialist is a registered nurse, who has graduate level nursing preparation at the master's or doctoral level. This includes the five domains of CNS practice-Clinical Practice, Leadership, Education, Research and Consultant. He/she is a clinical expert in evidence-based nursing practice within a specialty area. Clinical Nurse Specialist can practice autonomously and integrate knowledge of disease and medical treatments into the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients' illnesses. Clinical Nurse Specialist advances the practice of nursing to achieve quality and cost-effective patient outcomes as well as provide leadership to multidisciplinary groups in designing and implementing innovative alternative solutions to address system problems and/or patient care issues. In addition to providing direct patient care, a Clinical Nurse Specialist influences care outcomes by providing expert consultation for nursing staff, mentoring nurses to acquire new skills and by facilitating the implementation of improvements in health care delivery systems.
Education:Professional Certification and Masters required. Doctorate preferred
Licensure: Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of PA. License to practice as a CNS based on state regulations.
Professional Knowledge: Certified as a CNS and certified in area of specialization as applicable. Demonstrated advanced knowledge of nursing clinical practice and management of complex patient disease processes. Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills. Must complete and maintain BLS. ACLS, NRP and PALS certification as applicable to area of specialization. Must complete and maintain instructor status for at least one of these certifications.
Experience: Five or more years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting.
Interpersonal Skills: Interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative environment. Ability to plan, direct, and implement change. Demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment. Promotes mutual respect and professionalism in working relationships.
Equipment, Applications and Tools Knowledge: Demonstrated proficiency with common computer based applications such as electronic mail, word processing and various databases, whether PC, network or mainframe based.
The CNS does NOT need to live in PA and will NOT be working at a facility. They can work remotely from their home wherever it is when they are not traveling. Travel is 50% of the time to our 25 acute care facilities located throughout the country.
Salary to ~$130K DOE
