QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a graduate of accredited school of nursing. Currently registered and in good standing with State of Ohio licensure agency. Minimum of 4 years advanced surgical clinical experience. Four years management experience and/or CNOR preferred. Demonstrates initiative, basic leadership ability, and effective interpersonal skills with all disciplines. Computer skills preferred. Knowledge of correct body mechanics and demonstrated manual dexterity are essential. Visual acuity/hearing, written, and numerical skills needed for job skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is inside and of a medium nature. Climbing stairs, walking and much standing is necessary. Lifting patients and handling various instruments and mechanical apparatuses are also required.

Job Summary: Functioning within the Health System's mission, values, objectives, procedures and policies the Clinical Manager of Surgical Services is responsible for extending and supporting the leadership provided by the Director. Assists with the implementation and monitoring of administrative and clinical management through delegated activities which include, but are not limited to, staffing and scheduling, payroll, competencies, compliance with policies and practices, problem resolutions, fostering a learning climate, quality assessment and improvement, staff performance and evaluations, implementation of change and communication. Actively participates in assigned Medical Staff, Administrative, and Hospital Committees. Performs as a clinical resource for the nursing staff, provides direct patient care activities and performs additional role responsibilities as a care giver. This job is measured with age specific criteria.
