Dr Shira Johnson interviews Dr. Walter Lambert, who has been the medical director of the Child Protection Team at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital since 1988. He has been honored by the Florida Bar Association for his many years of work as Protector of the Innocents.

Dr. Shira Johnson is Emergency Practitioner, Apollo MD and Resurrection Health Care. Previously she was medical director of clinical research at Ovation Pharmaceuticals in Deerfield, Illinois where she was responsible for designing and conducting clinical trials in Phase I, II, and III for orphan neurological drugs which address unmet needs in select populations. Dr. Johnson began her career as an RN in the MICU at Jackson Memorial Hospital and then spent several years working with Dr. Margaret Fischl in the early days of HIV research. She later graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine, and completed her residency in internal medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital.She is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine. For 12 years she was an attending physician in the medical and surgical ED at Jackson Memorial Hospital. She concurrently conducted Phase II and Phase III clinical trials for the industry. Dr. Johnson's interest is in all aspects of emergency medicine; infectious disease, including HIV; pulmonary and critical care issues; and the ethical aspects of conducting research and practicing medicine.
